A Message From Angela B. Taylor

Dr. Angela B. Taylor is the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Louisville. A champion for student success, Dr. Taylor has served the UofL community since January 2013. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Dr. Taylor currently assists the Vice President in providing leadership and administration to the Division of Student Affairs. Working directly with Campus Housing, Career Development Center, Disability Resource Center, Student Care and Student Conduct, Student Grievance Officer, and Student Involvement, Dr. Taylor is highly visible on campus. Committed to helping students find their sense of belonging through engagement in diverse learning opportunities, Dr. Taylor cares about students and guides through that lens. Dr. Taylor believes that public institutions of higher education have a critical responsibility in promoting inclusive excellence and serving as student-centered places of learning. Prior to joining the University of Louisville, Dr. Taylor served in various capacities at Georgetown College from 2006 to 2013 including the Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Greek Affairs and Student Accountability, Assistant Director of Student Activities and Greek Affairs, and Area Coordinator for Greek Life. In these positions, she provided leadership to the areas of Family Programming, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Judicial Affairs, New Student Orientation, Residence Life, and Student Activities. While at Georgetown College, Dr. Taylor was a strong student advocate where she worked to foster an environment where students were supported and challenged. Before working at Georgetown College, Dr. Taylor served as a Leadership Consultant (LC) with Alpha Gamma Delta International Fraternity. As an LC, Dr. Taylor met with individual collegiate chapter officers to determine chapter strengths and areas of improvements while providing guidance and assistance in helping to create a financially responsible, organized, and bonded Alpha Gamma Delta collegiate chapter. In this role, Dr. Taylor provided individualized assistance to college students that empowered them to develop into leaders on their respective college campuses. Dr. Taylor holds a PhD in College Student Personnel Services from the University of Louisville where she completed her dissertation research on “Differences in Second Year College Student Experiences that Affect Persistence and Attrition for First Generation and Continuing Generation Students.” She holds a MEd in College Student Personnel Services from the University of Louisville and a BA in Psychology and Communication Arts from Georgetown College. Dr. Taylor enjoys time with family; she and her partner of 16 years, Steve, have two great kids, a nine-year-old, Spencer, and a four-year-old, Wyatt. With a spouse as a carpenter, they enjoy the challenges of house projects which recently included, building a playset, renovating their back deck, and refurbishing several pieces of outdoor furniture.

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission. 

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
