A Message From Jacqueline Huggins

Dr. Jacqueline Huggins hails from the beautiful Caribbean twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a PhD. Sociology (2016), Master’s Degree Sociology and Bachelor’s Degree Social Work. She is currently the Manager, Student Life and Development Department, at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Campus with responsibility for providing support to a diverse student body. Her passion for Student Services over the last seventeen years is evident in both her professional and voluntary work. A member of CTLPA since 2011, she served as Membership Coordinator and President of both the local and regional bodies. She made ACPA her professional home since 2015 and is currently a member of the Governing Board, Entities and Commissions. Internationally, she volunteers with IASAS Global focusing on bridging the gap of student services among regions. At work she focuses on championing the cause of students with disabilities and is involved in numerous organizations locally, regionally and internationally. Dr. Huggins believes in holistic development and enjoys working in her kitchen garden, listening to steelpan and soca music, going to church and taking long drives around the country. Her pride and joy is her 21 year old son Yohance, a University student in Canada.

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission. 

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
