A Message From Peggy Crowe

Dr. Peggy Crowe currently serves as the Director of the WKU Counseling Center & Student Accessibility Resource Center. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point), Peggy came to WKU in 1996 to pursue her Master’s degree in Student Affairs. She was a professional (live-in) staff member in the Dept. of Housing & Residence Life for over 6 years; served as an Area Coordinator, Assistant & Associate Director, M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan (extended orientation program) Coordinator; participated in numerous travel teams to OPE (Oshkosh Placement Exchange), SPE (Southern Placement Exchange), and NASPA’s TPE (The Placement Exchange), and has served in a supervisory capacity of both student and professional staff for over 28 years.

Peggy earned her Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University (Ohio). Her cognate area was race & ethnic relations and her dissertation focused on development and fundraising efforts within divisions of student affairs. While completing her doctorate, Peggy worked as an assistant to the Chair of the Higher Education and Student Affairs program as well as a Greek House Director with Sigma Phi Epsilon, Fraternity. 

Dr. Crowe returned to WKU in 2004, continuing her work in the Division of Student Affairs coordinating fundraising and development initiatives; ultimately returning to Housing & Residence Life in 2006. Peggy has served as the Director of the WKU Counseling Center since 2015 and as the Director of the WKU Student Accessibility Resource Center since late 2020. 

Additionally, Peggy has taught an undergraduate University Experience course (WKU) and a graduate Internship course in the Counseling & Student Affairs Program (WKU). She serves on several university committees (including the University Engagement & Opportunity Workgroup & the Jonesville Reconciliation Workgroup), presented on a variety of topics across campus, earned the inaugural Staff Cultural Competency Certification, facilitated Intergroup Dialogues and reading groups on race, presented for the WKU Staff Leadership Institute for over 10 years, is involved with campus and community organizations, a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a committed & passionate higher educational professional. Peggy has also served in leadership capacities in both SACSA (Southern Association for College Student Affairs) and NASPA Region III (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators) and is a member of AUCCCD (Assoc. for Univ. & College Counseling Center Directors), AHEAD (Association on Higher Education and Disability). Peggy is also a devoted spouse to Mr. Michael Crowe, Jr. (Director of Student Conduct & Co- Engagement & Opportunity Officer at WKU) & proud Mom to their son, 14-year-old Michael (III).

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission. 

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
