A Message From Kristen Brown

Kristen Brown is the Director of Online Learning at the University of Louisville. In 2013, Kristen completed the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning from Penn State University and the Online Learning Consortium. Kristen began working in the field of online education in 2001 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she served as Assistant Director for Online and Continuing Education for over eight years. She joined UofL in 2009 and has been with the Delphi Center at UofL since 2011. From July 2021-January 2023, Kristen served as Interim Associate Provost for Online Learning and Technology and Interim Co-Director for the UofL Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning. Kristen's unit partners with academic departments and units to bring programs online, clarify policy related to online education, manage state and federal regulations related to online, and oversee marketing, prospective student management, online student success, and online education data. Since 2011, Kristen and her team have helped UofL grow enrollment to over 3,300 online students – 14% of UofL’s overall headcount – in approximately 70 online programs. In 2017, Kristen earned the University of Louisville Outstanding Performance Award, and in 2016, she received an award from Public Agenda in recognition of her work as the leader of the Student Services C-BEN workgroup for Competency-Based Education. Under Kristen’s leadership, her team’s work has received several awards from national online learning associations – UPCEA for excellence in marketing and WCET for policy/compliance work. Kristen currently serves as the chair of the UPCEA Policy Committee. She holds a B.A. in English from Miami University and Master of Education (Ed.M.) in Adult and Higher Education from Oregon State University.

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission. 

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
