A Message From Sarah K. Cunningham

Dr. Sarah K. Cunningham believes students are the architects of their collegiate experience and that the role of student affairs is to create the conditions for them to thrive. As Vice President for Student Affairs at Tulane University, she works alongside a talented team and colleagues across the university to foster belonging, build community, and create opportunities for learning, connection, and growth. Sarah has had the privilege of working with the communities at Tulane University, Saint Louis University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Chicago, the University of Florida, and George Mason University. Her work is rooted in relationships and a commitment to investing in people. She is inspired by the students, staff, colleagues, and mentors who have strengthened her journey and by the opportunity to support and celebrate the growth and success of others. Sarah earned her doctorate in higher education and organizational change from Benedictine University, master’s degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University, and bachelor’s degree in combined social studies from Youngstown State University. Sarah is a proud aunt, beloved dog mom to Bailey, sports fan, and avid traveler. She treasures time with family and friends and is always up for a great morning workout.

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission.

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
