A Message From Jenny Bloom

Jenny Bloom joined the faculty of the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University in August 2015. In August 2019, she was promoted to Full Professor with tenure. In addition, she is the Coordinator of the Higher Education Leadership Master’s Degree Program and Jenny founded the Office of Appreciative Education https://www.fau.edu/oae/) at FAU in 2015. She previously served as a Clinical Professor and Director of the Master’s degree program in the Higher Education & Student Affairs Program at the University of South Carolina from August 2007 to August 2015. Prior to USC, she served as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs & the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Bloom is a co-founder of the Appreciative Advising, Appreciative Administration, and Appreciative Education movements. Dr. Bloom served as the 2007-08 President of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and was named the recipient of NACADA’s Virginia N. Gordon Award for Excellence in the Field of Advising in 2017. Dr. Bloom has co-authored six books and numerous articles and has presented her work at over 500 higher education institutions and conferences.

In Support of ACPA Foundation

Founded in 1994 during the presidency of Charles Schroeder, the purpose of the ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) is “to enhance the student affairs profession and to generate and disseminate knowledge of college students at all levels within higher education” (Article Three of the Articles of Incorporation). The organization is now known as the ACPA Foundation to more concisely communicate its role as the fundraising arm of ACPA College Student Educators International.

The Mission - The ACPA Foundation exists to support the priorities and activities of ACPA by raising funds and developing resources that help the Association fulfill its mission. 

The Vision - The ACPA Foundation will develop sufficient assets to effectively and sustainably fund ACPA’s efforts to provide excellent professional development opportunities to members, advance knowledge in the field, and support the transformative effect of education in the lives of college students.

In order to fulfill its purpose and mission, the Foundation invites members and non-members alike to provide philanthropic support for ACPA's vital initiatives involving research, scholarship, professional development and leadership program.
